I think most, if not a good part to the fun in Linux is in the attempt to get things running. When we put up 3 CMS' / 2 DB's we have just ruined it for these guys and made them lazy in the process (you have a webserver instance, but you have no clue how it was setup).
So how about just one of each and let them try installing the rest. We can do some guides during this session. @Simon, Web designers/developer are more likely to meet phpmyadmin so i think it would be a better option to the MySql Admin - vlc - k3b or other Optical media burning utility Regards, Douglas Onyango +256(0712)981329 Life is the educators practical joke in which you spend the first half learning, and the second half learning that everything you learned in the first was wrong. --- On Wed, 2/3/10, Reinier Battenberg <[email protected]> wrote: From: Reinier Battenberg <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [LUG] February LUG Meeting To: "Linux Users Group Uganda" <[email protected]> Date: Wednesday, February 3, 2010, 12:47 PM - Apache - Joomla, Wordpress, Drupal - JOSM (the openstreetmapper) - flash - skype - icedtea java browser plugin - Wammu - GParted - QGIS (and perhaps some sample data) - Gimp - InkScape - Scribus - FileZilla - Audacity - Firefox plugins: Firebug, Firediff, FireFinder, FireRainbow, Flashgot, Webdeveloper, Adblock Plus, Echofon (twitter client), Fast Dial (with some nice starter-websites) & Tab Mix Plus on KDE - KLinkStatus - KRuler - KDevelop - KColorChooser - KTorrent ? - Kaffeine - Kid3 And Games! -- rgds, Reinier Battenberg Director Mountbatten Ltd. +256 782 801 749 www.mountbatten.net On Wednesday 03 February 2010 10:36:24 Simon Vass wrote: > Hi Guys, > > As you already know, February will be the launch of the Makarere Linux > Chapter as such I have suggested we put together a custom build of Ubuntu > with some suitable applications pre-installed.
