I would look at syslog-ng http://www.balabit.com/network-security/syslog-ng/ it has the option of a very resilient protocol which lowers the likelihood of dropped messages.

The idea is to have a central location where logs from syslog clients are dumped. I'm open to both *free* and commercial solutions for as long as they can be implemented on *nix OS. Any tried and tested recommendations? Or otherwise? Thanks! ps: I came across this http://www.splunk.com/ Has anyone tried it out before? _______________________________________________ LUG mailing list [email protected] http://kym.net/mailman/listinfo/lug %LUG is generously hosted by INFOCOM http://www.infocom.co.ug/ The above comments and data are owned by whoever posted them (including attachments if any).
