Hi Reinier, Im not really that good with design I have got a better idea. Im sure on the LUG here we have got some people who know the people behind the CIT website (http://cit.mak.ac.ug/). They could help with the inviting of the students to attend the event by placing the ADD there. If it is also possible they could help with sending email invitations to the students since the faculty has the email addresses of each student its what they use to communicate. The lectures have those rights. There is a lecturer called Mr John Ngubiri he is the head of department Computer Science he is a big fan of linux. If any one knows him here i'm sure he'd be glad to help if he was approached.
