Sometimes it's the local cache, just find a way of clearing it, never used google chrome, but under firefox its tools->clear recent history then select cache. It's probable under a similar name.

I highly doubt google would create a browser that does not work with their very own mail system. have never touched windows 7 so I will not comment on this.
