Hi Andrew,
Well it means nothing is actually listening on LAMMP ports, so means you have 
to look into apache logs & MySQL logs, usually /var/log/httpd or 
/var/log/apache22
And /var/db/log

Paths may be different but doing:
 tail -f logfile for bith apache and mysql logs
And then running the lamp start in another terminal will give you the cause of 
the issue.
