Thanks Daniel, but i dont have the default webserver installed! i am trying to use xampp on ubuntu lucid. But for some reason apache doesnt work. The rest of the xampp components work(mysql, proftp...)
For what i want to do i would prefer the xampp bandle for my web development needs. Its been working on suse 10.3 and lower. For some reason, i get the same problem in later versions including SLED, SLES and OpenSuse 11.x I really wonder what could be the problem. I have even tried using the xammp tarball on the suse 10.3 virtual machine via AQEMU and it works. Sadly, my beautiful ubuntu lucid lnx also gives the same error!
