Thanks
I got a private reply off-list that fixed it.

Its the tiny things that you miss ...

all I needed to do was to add a default gateway
Which in my mind meant the bridge would only forward one way and not back

Anyway thanks

Kiggs,

Yes, if it's configured properly you should be able to surf from the bridge box.

If you're heading to todays LUG meeting, Simon can probably give you a copy of a system we built called ATSP which does all of this automatically.

Kyle

Ladies and Gentlemen

I am running a linux server as a transparent bridge (I needed to
collect gateway stats and do not have access to the cisco)

Once in bridge-mode and working well the linux box cannot be used to
surf because there is no gateway in bridge-mode ..... but in theory
there should be a way to get this to work, no?

Has anyone run squid as a transparent-proxy-cache while in bridge- mode?

Kiggs
