Boot with the suse live cd

mount your root partition:

e.g. *mount /dev/sda1 /mnt*

Then:

*chroot /mnt*
*
*
*passwd root*
*
*
Set your new password.

*sync*
*
*
*exit*
*
*
*umount /mnt*
*
*
Then reboot.
