I think I have it working,

1. Installed pppoe using "apt-get install pppoe"
2. Proceeded to the use the command "pppoe-setup" which spewed errors
about no configuration file "pppoe.conf" in "/etc/ppp/"
3. Copied a sample file off the web and saved it in this location and
4. Ran the command "pppoe-setup" again and answered the straight forward
questions like what ethernet interface to use, what my username and
password are etc...
5. The system times out while waiting for a connection to get
established with the ISP's server.
6. Have even put the command "pppoe-start" in my /etc/rc.local file for
starting the connection at boot.

Now if only the guys setting up my account at the ISP could finish doing
so as it will be a week since they started on this on Wednesday,

;-)

I would be one happy surfer. Will update you all once everything's up
