Hi Janosch, Sorry about the freezing experience but am glad the easyway worked for you. Am going to investigate the cause for the freeze on a ubuntu VM and hopefully post amended instructions for the geeky way.
Its good to know that you could help out on the interface. Am working on one now but am not such a creative guy on GUIs (i have some ancient looking interface am beating up). Your GUI even in 3 weeks time may be still welcome. About improving the easyway app to do some confirmation, will do that and whatever code we will have tomorrow for the LUG meeting should have that in along with some other niceties (e.g Some USSD stuff <load airtime on the modem SIM without pulling it out and using a phone before fixing it back>, check airtime balance <if you use the modem to send SMS>) Anybody who has worked on a GUI? We need to finish it before tomorrow's meeting. Any help rendered in anyway is highly welcome.. Also i request that incase someone else gets issues with any of the procedures on a different distro, please post your experience so we can improve the solution.
