But how can you verify all those values if it is closed source software?

To have an algorithm predicting the usage of your CPU is the thing, that
seems interesting to me. I otherwise feel really comfortable with
powertop. And scaling down my cpu is done by the kernel automatically (i
think it is the kernel, who is doing so).
