Guys n Gals, I have this weird Flash -
I have successfully scanned thru the files and kept what i still need. So i wanted to trash everything and possibly format! 1. chmod to 777 wont work 2. chown to myself and my group wont work 3. rm -rf wont work ...all saying 'Read Only Filesystem' 4. When i try the graphical Disk Utility, 4.a Format Drive wont work - results: Error creating partition table: helper exited with exit code 1: cannot open /dev/sdc: Read-only file system 4.b Format Volume wont work - results: Error creating file system: helper exited with exit code 1: cannot open /dev/sdc1: Read-only file system 4.c Delete Partition neither - results - Error erasing: helper exited with exit code 1: In part_del_partition: device_file=/dev/sdc, offset=4194304 Entering MS-DOS parser (offset=0, size=4253024256) MSDOS_MAGIC found looking at part 0 (offset 4194304, size 4011851776, type 0x0b) new part entry looking at part 1 (offset 0, size 0, type 0x00) new part entry looking at part 2 (offset 0, size 0, type 0x00) new part entry looking at part 3 (offset 0, size 0, type 0x00) new part entry Exiting MS-DOS parser MSDOS partition table detected Warning: Unable to open /dev/sdc read-write (Read-only file system). /dev/sdc has been opened read-only. got it Warning: Unable to open /dev/sdc read-write (Read-only file system). /dev/sdc has been opened read-only. got disk got partition - part->type=0 Warning: Unable to open /dev/sdc read-write (Read-only file system). /dev/sdc has been opened read-only. Error: Can't write to /dev/sdc, because it is opened read-only. ped_disk_commit_to_dev() failed 5. shred -fuz wont work - read only filesystem. i think because its half to 5, am at my wits end, please suggest help!
