What graphics card do you have?

I have an Ideapad Y550P and from my research there's no way to control the
fan speed through software. The Thinkpad ACPI driver doesn't work on
Ideapads.

However, you may need to check your general power management settings (if I
remember, if you set to high performance, rather than adaptive, the fan will
be on most of the time) & also your graphic card's power management - if
it's a high-end card, it's creating the most heat.
