Hi Guys,

Am using Minicom to connect to Cisco Equip. but am encountering an annoyance
I would like to do away with. Am using a USB-->Serial Converter console
cabling and it shows up fine a as either *ttyUSB0* or *ttyUSB1*, thing is
when I switch the console cable between routers the connection breaks
with *"minicom
device /dev/ttyUSB0 access failed: No such file or directory"* message,at
this point the USB cable usually has shifted from *ttyUSB0* to *ttyUSB1* or
vice versa meaning I have to shut down the console tab, open up a new one
and connect to whichever serial port the USB converter has been allocated to
on reconnection,

is there a way to 'lock' the cable to a particular serial port, or even to
maintain the connection as I switch between routers / switches? Am using
Suse 11.3 and would appreciate any help.

Cheers
