Uganda Telecom is selling those little USB wimax dongles. I'd be
interested if anyone got them working.

It uses the bcm_wimax module. I added the USB IDs to Greg KH's staging
tree so the module should load in 2.6.38. His tree is:
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/staging-2.6.git
staging-next
So probably the 2.6.38 kernel will support them.

The problem is that I can't figure out the user space bits. There
is supposed to be a `wimaxd` binary. I can't figure out where to get
that from.

regards,
dan carpenter
