Hey all, I'm would like to implement an open-source Point-Of-Sale (POS) system but don't have much experience with POS hardware/software. Accordingly, I have a few questions:
1) We have a Linux-compatible barcode scanner but need to purchase a cash-drawer and receipt printer. Does anyone know of any such hardware which plays well with Linux? Locally available hardware is obviously preferred. 2) Does anyone know of any existing open-source POS installations which I can go have a look at? 3) Does anyone recommend any particular POS software and, if so, why? 4) All other comments/advice welcome. Thanks, Kyle Spencer _______________________________________________ The Uganda Linux User Group: http://linux.or.ug Send messages to this mailing list by addressing e-mails to: [email protected] Mailing list archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Mailing list settings: http://kym.net/mailman/listinfo/lug To unsubscribe: http://kym.net/mailman/options/lug The Uganda LUG mailing list is generously hosted by INFOCOM: http://www.infocom.co.ug/ The above comments and data are owned by whoever posted them (including attachments if any).
