Lug,
anyone interested in volunteering on ICT Pro bono projects can contact me off
list
The aim of the Probono Project is to have a network of ICT volunteers, the
volunteers can propose an idea to support a Non Profit or a school
The project will have an independent website where NGOs can request for
services. i have created a temporary site where volunteers can register based
on Drupal Open Atriumsoftwarelabint.com/probono
Once members (3 - 5) agree to support the project, the project can be
executed,Open atrium has a case tracker, so proposed ideas will be in three
stages (Proposed, In Evaluation, Accepted)
Young professionals will also be able to use this platform to enhance their
skills through a mentorship program, the mentorship will be informal, and is
not expected to consume many hours for the senior members of the team.
Contributions (Services) can be executed remotely, although some projects will
require Physical support
Expected outcomes include
a) Build the Capacity of Uganda ICT Professionals acquire state of the art ICT
skillsb) Help qualifying Non Profits/ Schools receive free ICT services, IT
support, Software and Web Developmentc) Develop a mentor-ship program for ICT
professionalsd) Develop open source software for the communitye) Knowledge
sharing
thank you
Cavin
