I was going to suggest installing Chrome, but apparently the linux versions of Chrome (at least the newer ones) do not support Gears<http://www.toptechreviews.net/tech-news/google-gears-death-announced/> . If offline Gmail is important to you, your alternatives pretty much seem to be:-
a) Forget about Gears and use IMAP to sync your mail using a mail client b) Wait for when Google is done working "with our friends at Mozilla and Microsoft<http://news.idg.no/cw/art.cfm?id=5AD52BBA-1A64-67EA-E4722E498F30F8C5>". This may take a while (end of year!) c) Downgrade firefox -- Hari On 23 March 2011 10:18, Gaël Hernandez <[email protected]> wrote: > > Now that Gears is stopped in favor of mainstreaming the use of HTML5 > (http://gearsblog.blogspot.com/2011/03/stopping-gears.html), any idea on how > to enable Gmail offline to our new brand shiny Firefox 4?
