Yes you will, the crossover should not be that hard. FreeBSD is the most popular BSD out there. They do have a easier looking package management systems(surprisingly) as compared to Slackware, sometimes there are issues with hardware compatibility(eg. My desktop DVD drive failed to boot the FreeBSD 7.0 and 8.2 DVDs). And they do have a much larger repository of packages than Slackware so that means less direct compiling for you. And 'they' say 'slackers' usually find the transition fast and interesting. regards and luck Joachim _______________________________________________ The Uganda Linux User Group: http://linux.or.ug Send messages to this mailing list by addressing e-mails to: [email protected] Mailing list archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Mailing list settings: http://kym.net/mailman/listinfo/lug To unsubscribe: http://kym.net/mailman/options/lug The Uganda LUG mailing list is generously hosted by INFOCOM: http://www.infocom.co.ug/ The above comments and data are owned by whoever posted them (including attachments if any).
