You should be now be making some final touches to your application for submission. To submit your app, visit http://code.google.com/support/bin/request.py?contact_type=ADCSSASubmissions *A few reminders from the Android developer challenge Africa website<http://code.google.com/android/adcafrica/> :* "Semi-Final Round By July 1st, all apps entering the competition need to be submitted for judging. We will select the top three applications from each category in each region — 3 apps, from each of the 3 categories in all 3 regions (27 apps total) — will move to the final round. Applications will be evaluated and ranked by a team of Google-selected internal & external judges. On July 15, the apps moving to the final round will be announced The Android Developer Challenge contest is open only to applications that have not been made publicly available through the Android Market, any other available apps market, or public website, prior to July 1st, 2011. Additionally, applications that were entered into other mobile contests are ineligible for the contest, regardless of whether they were winning apps. Similarly, updated versions of applications entered in other contests are ineligible. Teams *can be no more than 3 people*. All team members’ names must be listed when submitting the application for the Android Developer Challenge. *Submission* A Participant may submit more than one Entry. At the time of submission, the Participant must designate ONE and ONLY ONE category that the Entry is submitted under. The categories are as follows: Entertainment / Media / Games Social Networking / Communication Productivity / Tools / Local / Geo *How your app will be Judged* * * For Semi Final Round Judging, Judges will consider each Entry under the following equally-weighted judging criteria: (1)* Originality of Concept*--Does the application introduce a great new idea; for example, a new angle on social applications? (2) *Effective Use of the Android Platform*--Does the application take advantage of Android's unique and compelling features, such as built-in location-based services, accelerometer, and always-on networking? (3) *Polish and Appeal*--Is the application easy to use and aesthetically appealing? (4) *Indispensability*--Is the application compelling and essential, such as a game the user just can't put down or a utility she can't live without? Using these criteria, Judges will evaluate each Entry and give it a score of one (1) to five (5) on each criterion. In each geographic region -- East Africa, West & Central Africa and Southern Africa -- the three (3) Entries in each category with the highest scores (for a total of 27 Entries across the region) will be determined to be "Qualifying Entries" and will advance to the Final Round. *Awards* Prizes will be distributed as follows; all prizes are in USD: - *Semi-Final Round:* All teams that make it to the final round in each category in each region will be awarded Android phones. - *Final Round:* 1st prize in each category across all regions will receive $25,000 USD and the chance to attend a Google developer event."
