What do you mean "play nice"?

My laptop uses a BCM57780 (which uses the tg3 module) and I found that it
wouldn't work unless I loaded the broadcom module first.

So I put this in /etc/modprobe.d/99-local.conf:

install tg3 /sbin/modprobe broadcom; sleep 1; /sbin/modprobe
--ignore-install tg3

Works like a charm.
