I concur, however this small dirty secret has helped Google
keep remodeling droid OS because the current android being shipped is very
extremely different from what it was simply because i believe the rate at
which the phones are returned spurs the rate at which the OS is perfected, a
good example is Samsung who is building there own OS but so far have had
huge success with there Galaxy range which at the beginning had a a lot of
mambo jambo but now is shipping almost at a rate faster than the iPhone,
iPad and will see strong growth over next year in tablet and handset space.

Offcourse they have the wolves after them but they are simply still selling
like hot cakes and will continue according to latest results, but this goes
to show the kind of company google is , make it , throw it to the customers
and let them scream and shout , fix it as you go until you have the right
product however sales still continue and at some point you get what you
want, Apple's business model is obviously different but they are not safe at
all and i believe they know it and everyone does, even if the return rate of
android devices reaches 50% , the question would be to identify which
manufacturer/OEM is not doing it right because they are just too many and
each is has there own arsenal of different features and patents to add to
the overlying OS, the sheer mass of development and shipping of adroid is
what is the biggest threat, return rate is a statistic they already expect
at some level.
