Nyerere was just smarter about it, and more controlled. So much so that he 
fooled the world into wanting to make him a saint. But make no mistake, there 
was the odd and very convenient car accident, or suicide, and the Party was 
always right. (Actually one of the least understood truths of this region is 
how at least three current serving leaders learnt a lot of their craft from 
him.)

 Still, I am sure we can find you a more fitting dictator if mine is too mild 
for your tastes. Just no martyrs (because however nasty you are, dying for a 
good cause, as with Lumumba, definitely washes away all sins).
