Subject: Re: [LUG] Ideas for this Month's meeting

I think FinAfrica has a good Internet connection from Foris Uganda.

They ultimately want to be the centre where we can go for video conference
or remote participation activities.. what better way than to give it a shot
during the LUG?

Simon, I suggest lets go for it. We need to inform Camelo about the date so
he can put it a side for us. I have cc'd him on this.

Best regards,

Boaz,

Well as FinAfrica's mission is is "to facilitate the establishment and
development of sustainable small businesses in Uganda thereby creating
wealth for the economy and reducing poverty"

Can I suggest that is our theme for topics?

What applications are useful for small businesses?
Why does FOSS Matter for SME's?
How hard is it to train in FOSS?

Looks like a great venue by the way.

Shall we provisionally aim for the 21st October 2011 as a date (third Friday
and all that)

Does FinAfrica have good Internet connectivity, might be fun to setup some
remote participation links?

Hi

As someone offered it last time and after I consulted with Carmelo of Fin
Africa he would love to host the LUG meeting for this month.

If need I would also be available to assist with organizing .

Well to try and steer things back onto a more penguin friendly footing, how
about ideas for this month meeting?

I think in terms of venue we have several but if anyone wants to offer now
is the time?

So super techie? Or newb level? Or both?

Installing Slackware with your eyes closed and small furry animals being
thrown at you? - Kyle

An introduction to the ls command? - Simon

Hurting Kittens - Why editing Drupal Core will make you go blind? - Reinier

It's FOSS Damnit! - Tim

Airtime+LiquidSoap - Run a 1 man radio station like a pro - Kyle and
Airtime+Simon

......? The floor is open!
