3D and LED are all the rage now. I'm not so keen on 3D, because I have to wear those awful goggles for minutes or hours on end, it's simply annoying. That's no way to tune in. I avoid 3D movies at the cinema like the plague, it's just uncomfortable. As for LCD vs. LED. Well, the majority of consumer-grade sets that come with LED are not offering true LED. It's merely LED backlight across an LCD display (lit from the edge in most cases). It is better than LCD, but not as good as pure LED. And to be honest, I don't think it really matters that much. The processors in Tv's these days have sufficient logic to "make up the difference", although have a pure LED display would be ideal for the videophile. As for so-called Motion Interpolation (marketing names of Motion Flow for Sony, Auto Motion Plus for Samsung, Fine Motion Enhanced for Sharp, clearScan for Toshiba, TruMotion for LG, e.t.c.), I don't like it. You never walk into a cinema expecting to watch movies like that, why settle for the same in your living room? It's unnatural, disturbing and cheesy. I normally just turn it off altogether. Happy Holiday shopping :-). Mark.
