You need to jailbreak it first before unlocking it. To jailbreak, you could use snowbreeze, redsnow or limera1n and to unlock, use ultrasnow. Before undertakingg all these, you need to know what IOS and firmware are currently supported by the phone. For an untethered jailbreak, It would work easily for IOS versions below 5.0.
