the idea is interesting, but i have a few questions below.

How were you piping the data into your comparison engine, coz i was looking at 
the possibilities below:

SOA - once your comparison engine is published as a web service, then you can 
convince clients to connect to your web service with data in a specific format, 
so it can be compared.

Gathering the data through an RSS feed - this means the comparison engine needs 
to be able to parse the RSS data and if you have different incompatible RSS 
feeds, then it could present issues i think.

Reading directly from the publishers websites - this could be possible, but 
would require search engine heuristics
