Ideally, yes people bring there own, but not everyone has a computer/laptop.

@davis: By chairs I generally mean the sort for people to sit on whilst they
listen to your speakers chat on about what ever topic. They could sit on the
floor, but that might be a little to 'bohemian' for some of them ;-)

By computers I generally mean something running Linux, (unless your doing a
Windows--->Linux Migration) and pre-installed with what ever your talking about
if your doing a tutorial, Internet helps if your referring to a web page, but
can be distracting if everyone starts surfing, and not following you. How ever
it can lead to some interesting audience participation.

Don't people usually bring their own computers to a LUG meeting? Isn't that
kinda, well not the whole point perhaps, but a fair part of it?

We can provide a projector, but for the computers and chairs i really don't get
what you mean. (Are they laptops, PCs, small office chairs, reception chairs?)

people who couldn't care less about Drupal might perhaps miss this conversation

the kind of budget you need so you don't end up cash "strapped" at just
one drink, etc, etc

This depends on the size of the event, if your expecting 30-40 people usually
the beers and drinks can be handled by the few generous donations.

If your organising a 200+ event, then you'll need a budget, and or sponsor.

Thanks Simon, at this point I hope matters around the LUG meeting are clear

:)@Simon, Benjamin, Brian, Allan, ........
I think we now we have three volunteers who can offer a physical venue
for the LUG meeting,( we are flooded with so many choices now..)

Can we draw up the agenda for that meeting? I think anyone can post
whatever they would want discussed in that meeting including nothing.

BTW: The above is just an opinion.

Thanks.

especially to give them the skills to be economically independent and

S7 also runs an Ubuntu Cafe, a Mexican Food Cafe' and proudly host COSS
(hence the pitch).

Physical meeting: S7 is happy to host LUG meetings (almost) anytime we
want, barring only times where other events are scheduled at S7. Most
Friday afternoons after Good Friday are available.
