Hello Friends, FOSSFA is preparing a change of guard, and as the current council and executive prepares for online elections, here's some of what you need to know:
*FOSSFA Executive & Council* The FOSSFA executive is elected from within an elected Council. FOSSFA Council members can be individual or organizational, and can come from anywhere on the continent. In June, FOSSFA will embark on an online election to constitute the next council and executive. All FOSSFA members will be eligible to vote. *FOSSFA Membership* Being a FOSSFA member is one of the best things that has happened to me in the last 2 years of my professional career. You too can benefit from this. Read some more here: http://fossfa.net/?q=node/38 Memberships last every 2 years, from one IDLELO to the next. The current membership tenure started on 19th march 2012 and will expire about the same time in 2014. Membership Fees are as follows: Student with VALID ID - 10 USD Individual Registrations: Male - 20 USD, Female 15 USD Organizational Membership - 150 USD. *FOSSFA Members* AS of 25th May, 2012, All registered members with detail information at the secretariat sum up to 301. Currently and considering 2012 -2014(i.e. the period to the next idlelo) only 58 paid up members can be confirmed. Of these, there are only 3 Ugandans. I am sure there are many more Ugandan members, who just need to pay up their membership. See: http://fossfa.net/?q=fossfa_directory&country=Uganda&main_community=&type=&gender= If your name is wrongfully missing, please send a mail to * [email protected] CC [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected]*. for quick fixing. As usual, all members are on the FOSSFA members list, and if you are missing on this list, please do send an email to these address for that to be fixed as well. *FOSSFA in Uganda* FOSSFA extends its operations, through Country Liaisons.
