Hallo Members,

So, the RapidFTR <http://rapidftr.com/> Code Jam is going ahead tomorrow
29th August 2012 at the Outbox Hub <http://www.outbox.co.ug>. RapidFTR has
held successful regular Codejams all around the world.

Following a successful
info-session<http://outbox-thoughtworks.eventbrite.com/> last
week, the RapidFTR team is inviting volunteers from the local software
developer community to come and help take this to the finishing line and
get it deployed in the real field.

RapidFTR is a versatile open-source mobile phone application and data
storage system that helps humanitarian workers collect, sort and share
information about unaccompanied and separated children so they can be
registered for care services and reunited with their families. RapidFTR is
specifically designed to streamline and speed up Family Tracing and
Reunification (FTR) efforts both in the immediate aftermath of a crisis and
during ongoing recovery efforts.

RapidFTR is an open source volunteer project under active development by
UNICEF for use during emergencies around the world.

Please bring your laptop to make your hands dirty with some code. The first
session will focus on Ruby on Rails and couple of more sessions focusing on
introducing the technology stack. For those passionate and have some
experience with software development but do not know any Ruby On Rails,
come along too - light snacks will be available to get loaded with food too.

You can also check out our developer page providing access to software
developer resources on RapidFTR http://rapidftr.com/developer

To register, please visit http://rapidftr-code1.eventbrite.com/

See you there
