And if one is really paranoid, one should remember that in the end, your
location is user-supplied data. As such, it can be spoofed.

Hi,

Indeed there are plenty of apps that broadcast the location of you. Foursquare
being one of the more famous.

But they will *always* be based on sharing your location as a sender.

If you are receiving a call/tweet/fb update/IM etc. there is no way to tell
where that thing came from, unless the sender opted to share that information.

There are several apps that do this in the google play store. Alot of them are
based on the location of the developer or partnerships with companies like
"CityID" but it is possible without a warrant

Hi,

Only the telco of the caller can tell you this (and pretty accurately). But
you have to have a police warrant before they show you. (when for example,
your phone is stolen)

There is no other way.

hi Members,

i have been tasked to find out if there is software especially for smartphones
i.e blackberry, samsung or Iphone that can be used to track the

location of an incoming call i.e if some one for example calls me and i have
this software on my phone, it should be able to show me the area

where they are calling from.

Any ideas in connection to this is highly appreciated.

Kind Regards

Owen
