I have played around with it. It actually runs a customised Ubuntu, I'll
need to verify what version of Ubuntu it is. I think its only the GUI that
is customised and some fancy scripts to get certain things working 'the
Windows way'.

I am not certain about you installing your own Ubuntu. But I am assuming
since its running Ubuntu, a USB drive image should suffice to get your
Ubuntu installed on it.
