That's not true :) Some also think Apple had contributed enough to Google Maps Databases as every point searched only enhanced Google's position, so a gamble was taken to go to market with a Maps App that would be enhanced as more users used it, It would take ages to collect the amount of data Google boasts of, but with more than 100 Million Plus devices moving to IOS 6 at first time of asking, Apple's Maps App can only get better as more data points are fed into it by its fanboys.
At <600$ a share some gambles can surely be taken, who remembers the storm in a teacup that was the iPhone 4 Antennae?
