I wonder if the steam box will have the same requirement as the steam client (always online DRM) I dont mind the setup myself on my PC and mac, but I am lucky to live in a place where i always have internet access. It only bothers me when I am on my 30hour trek to visit Mom in Kampala and I can not kill several hours on a plane or in airport waiting lounge playing kotor2 or COH_eastern front :(
