Luggers,
I have added the Microsoft Office dependency issue, are there any other ideas? I had the following: a) Documenting the required information and formats for common activities like TIN registration, etc to enable "certified" 3rd party providers automate this provide this as a service b) Enable "certified" third parties to develop solutions to capture and submit tax related information to URA - even if it's a dump of an Excel spreadsheet document to a designated area and not fully automated which would be a good start c) Standardization efforts on data submissions for tax purposes d) Insight into future plans + road maps - enable local tech and service companies to innovate Stephen From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Mike Barnard Sent: Wednesday, February 20, 2013 7:03 PM To: Uganda Linux User Group Subject: Re: [LUG] URA Engagement with Local Tech Community On 20 February 2013 15:00, Simon Vass <[email protected]> wrote: Stephen, I think the first main one would be to make the e-tax system platform agnostic. With the advent of more and more non-microsoft devices they really need to be thinking about this. I tried to engage them on this and was told, "You need Microsoft Office". I think I agree with Stephen, if we approach them as a community, we may be able to do more with them than if we tried to do it individually. There is a voice in numbers.
