On the consumer side, no traction, I agree. Because viber/whatsapp/skype have eaten that lunch and are not to be interrupted belching. On the enterprise side, there is scope. Business is going to become increasingly wary about trusting valuable transmissions to black boxes (like Skype), and not just because of the recent hullabaloo about China hacking everything except the fridge. It's called growing up. Once upon a time, we thought nothing of using plain POP3 to fetch out mail. Then we grew up and thought to add an S to that to make it secure. We have long trusted commercially very sensitive conversations to third parties we can't inspect. Huge companies out there do most of their voice comms using Skype. I suspect that'll not last. And that's a progress.
