Hello Everyone,

For SolarNow I'm looking for a young and enthousiastic IT assistant to help us with the day to day running of the IT department of SolarNow.

SolarNow is a 2 year old company (based in Kansanga) which sells Solar Home Systems to mainly rural customers throughout Uganda. To make our systems more affordable we sell these systems credit allowing the client to repay over a period of 12 months. Sales and installation are done through a network of nearly 30 franchises spread throughout Uganda. SolarNow uses a centralised Admin System used by staff and franchises to record data and monitor the portfolio.

The IT assistant will have a diverse number of responsibilities:
1. Training of Franchises and staff on proper use of the SolarNow Admin System
2. Keep the HQ offfice IT infrastructure in good working order and perform routine maintenance
3. Liase with external service providers in case of problems
4. Maintain and create user accounts in SolarNow's systems.
5. Assist with data migrations between systems
6. Assist with the deployment of SolarNow's Franchise Computers

We are looking for someone with the following qualifications
1. Bachelor in IT
2. minimum of 3 year work experience in a relevant environment
3. Preferrably experience with Ubuntu, Zentyal, OpenERP & Windows
4. Commitment to SolarNow's goals and mission
5. Hard working, self-motivating attitude

Base of the position will be HQ with extended travel up country (expected is 30%)
