It does sound a bit sensationalist, but the point is that the Apple
devices actually permit such a lockdown to take place. The Android
phones, while not nearly as open as I would want them to be, still has
greater liberties. Any lockdown functionality would simply be dummied
out in any and every alt-ROM out there.
