That is strange, i have installed Ubuntu on a 650 and no drivers had to be installed. I an assuming the sound card is HDA Intel, if you have a card like Beats Audio , i don't have any idea what you should do, otherwise, Intel HDA and Altec Lansing are the already pre-include with most Linux distributions.
Please write the command "sudo lshw" in your terminal or rather do a "sudo lshw >>dump.txt " and upload the file so that i can take a look at what your laptop has already .
