Computer is Currently running Linux mint on a dell latitude D420: Used command:
fdisk -l to view the devices before and after attaching the external drives. created a directory: sudo mkdir /media/flash and mounted one of the drives to the created directory: sudo mount /dev/sdc3 /media/flash A partion on my external drive that it accepted to mount, it denied other devices. Tried to copy files from my home folder to the external drive: sudo cp -r /home/dell/* /media/flash And Is currently trying to copy the files to my external hard disk attached. Will try the recovery command for the GUI later after copying thanks and will keep you posted. QN: Is copying the home folder enough to retrive all the data or there is another folder i should copy.
