LUGOS
Linux Users Group Of Slovenia is one of the most active communities in
Slovenian computer world. Its members have strong interests in Linux
operating system and other open source software. LUGOS is active mainly in
Slovenia where it organizes different kinds of annual events: Linux
festivals, Abort computer camps, presentations on computer fairs and
workshops. Beside events there are also projects to bring Linux to
everyday users trough localisation of programs, translations, deployment
of Linux as server platform in schools etc. Because of the common goal of
propagating Linux and open source community, its members are participating
in different events all across Europe (LinuxTag, LinuxFest in Belgrade,
etc.). LUGOS is also trying to cooperate with similar iniciatives in
neighbouring countries, namely HULK (Croatian Linux user group), Serbian
Linux user group and different groups in Italy. One of the latest projects
is taking part in iniciative to create an open, public and free cyber
center in Ljubljana.
Therefore the Linux User Group of Slovenia with all its activities is a
strong force that is actively shaping the future of information community
in Slovenia.
