I just try it as follow:
1.server33 mds's ip: 192.168.5.30->192.168.4.30
server44 oss's ip: 192.168.5.40->192.168.4.40
2.vi /etc/hosts
3. mds:
#tunefs.lustre --mdt --mgs --erase-params [EMAIL PROTECTED]
--writeconf /dev/sda6
oss:
#tunefs.lustre --ost --erase-params [EMAIL PROTECTED] --writeconf
/dev/sda6
4.reboot
5.mds:
# mount.lustre /dev/sda6 /mnt/mds/
[EMAIL PROTECTED] mnt]# lctl dl
0 UP mgs MGS MGS 5
1 UP mgc [EMAIL PROTECTED] 8af572de-3819-0a1a-0473-a76b7c42fe12 5
2 UP mdt MDS MDS_uuid 3
3 UP lov phoebus-mdtlov phoebus-mdtlov_UUID 4

oss:

Is the MGS running?

You have to use the "--writeconf" option to the MDT to force the logs to
be regenerated.
