Well, those are sufficient but not necessary conditions. If you substitute "disk" for "node" you would be more accurate. And you could set up 1 disk for a standalone MGS and 3 disks for 3 MDTs if you wanted. The MGS disk can be small; it just needs to hold configuration data.
