Hi all,

in the manual was written
"Lustre requires very modern e2fsprogs that understand extents".
I thought, that the debian etch e2fsprogs seems to be modern enough. But I
just find out, that if a server filesystem has to be repaired with e2fsck one
realy need an e2fsprogs from cfs! The manual is a little bit unclear here.
The e2fsprogs-1.39.cfs7-0redhat packages can be used for etch and sarge, at
least I have no problem up to now.

The lustre client behaviour seems to be changed since 1.5.95. I can not reboot
until the lustre filesystem is umounted or I give an unmount -f
this seems to be no problem on debian etch, but on sarge I have to change the
umountnfs.sh that lustre was recognized as remote file system.

I have now installed patchless and patched clients and servers on etch i386
and amd64 and patchless and patched clients and servers ond debian i386
and start now to use lustre in a production environment.
Lets hope it will be reliable.

Harald
