Hi Guys, I am investigating to install a Cluster file system on my web servers. I came across CODA and Lustre.
Do you mean the AFS off-shoot CODA? It's hardly in stable state and I am not even sure how it's being maintained currently -- maybe someone else can tell us more. From prior experience, CODA offered better disconnected usage (designed for mobile users), but that too was a bit clunky. My tests were quite limited however. AFS & CODA are distributed clusters -- they're worlds apart from Lustre. Maybe you can email us what you're looking to achieve with your setup. Also: has anyone looked at gluster? http://www.gluster.org. Quite interesting. I have 2 question though to finally select one of the 2.
1. Which one is better in terms of performance - (Disk IO and multi server replication) 2. Which has more features and functionalities. Many thanks for your answers. Prashant
