Hi, We're having a little problem with getting lustre-1.6.4.3 up and running on a kernel org 2.6.18 kernel running over rhel4. When we try to mount one of the filesystems the kernel panics. The ost and mds in question are still running lustre 1.4.10-1 -- should we expect that to work with a 1.6 client?
Has anyone else run into this? The kernel panic is below -- thanks for any input. -k --------------------------------------- Unable to handle kernel paging request at ffff810203f0d260 RIP: [<ffff810203f0d260>] PGD 8063 PUD 11063 PMD 8000000203e001e3 PTE 0 Oops: 0011 [1] SMP CPU 7 Modules linked in: ko2iblnd ptlrpc obdclass lnet lvfs libcfs sd_mod ipv6 nfs lockd nfs_acl sunrpc rdma_cm ib_addr dm_mod video button battd Pid: 2598, comm: modprobe Not tainted 2.6.18.8smp-perfctr-lustre-1.6.4.3 #2 RIP: 0010:[<ffff810203f0d260>] [<ffff810203f0d260>] RSP: 0000:ffff8101e66b5ce0 EFLAGS: 00010282 RAX: ffffffff88067a80 RBX: ffffc2000002e000 RCX: 0000000000000001 RDX: 0000000000001000 RSI: ffff8101ebbca000 RDI: ffff810203f0d000 RBP: ffff810204380640 R08: 0000000000000000 R09: 0000000000000000 R10: 0000000000000000 R11: 00000000ffffffff R12: 0000000000000000 R13: 0000000000000000 R14: 0000000000000000 R15: ffff810204380668 FS: 00002ac3249a4b00(0000) GS:ffff81023fdaa2c0(0000) knlGS:0000000000000000 CS: 0010 DS: 0000 ES: 0000 CR0: 000000008005003b CR2: ffff810203f0d260 CR3: 00000001f27fd000 CR4: 00000000000006e0 Process modprobe (pid: 2598, threadinfo ffff8101e66b4000, task ffff81023bad8040) Stack: ffffffff883caa0b 0000000000000000 ffff81020408d240 ffff81020408d2c0 ffffffff883d9265 ffff81023f831c00 ffff810204380640 ffff8101eba71e80 ffffffff883cbf90 0000000000000000 0000000000000000 0000000000000000 Call Trace: Inexact backtrace: [<ffffffff883caa0b>] :ko2iblnd:kiblnd_map_tx_descs+0xfb/0x1e0 [<ffffffff883cbf90>] :ko2iblnd:kiblnd_startup+0x890/0x920 [<ffffffff80216db2>] cache_grow+0x34b/0x3a1 [<ffffffff88265324>] :lnet:lnet_startup_lndnis+0x124/0x600 [<ffffffff88231e78>] :libcfs:cfs_alloc+0x28/0x60 [<ffffffff88266146>] :lnet:LNetNIInit+0x106/0x1f0 [<ffffffff8028717b>] default_wake_function+0x0/0xe [<ffffffff8836056a>] :ptlrpc:ptlrpc_ni_init+0x6a/0x150 [<ffffffff8028717b>] default_wake_function+0x0/0xe [<ffffffff8836065a>] :ptlrpc:ptlrpc_init_portals+0xa/0xc0 [<ffffffff8028717b>] default_wake_function+0x0/0xe [<ffffffff80262dad>] __down_read+0x12/0x9a [<ffffffff883c4190>] :ptlrpc:init_module+0xc0/0x35d [<ffffffff8022131d>] __up_read+0x10/0x8a [<ffffffff802948f3>] blocking_notifier_call_chain+0x2d/0x36 [<ffffffff8029fbba>] sys_init_module+0xb1/0x1c4 [<ffffffff8025cc56>] system_call+0x7e/0x83 Code: 80 7a 06 88 ff ff ff ff 80 7a 06 88 ff ff ff ff 78 d2 f0 03 RIP [<ffff810203f0d260>] RSP <ffff8101e66b5ce0> CR2: ffff810203f0d260 -- Karen Fernsler Systems Engineer National Center for Supercomputing Applications ph: (217) 265 5249 email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ Lustre-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.lustre.org/mailman/listinfo/lustre-discuss
