Yes you can use ll_recover_lost_found_objs, we have had very recent experience
here with using it against a 1.6.5 filesystem. We did however go get the newest
version from the Lustre 1.8 branch.

If the O directory doesn't exist you'll need to run it twice, and you will need
to specify the full path to the lost+found directory otherwise the tool will
complain quite a bit.
