Good Morning,

I have some questions about multiple mdts and striping.

As I read the documentation it sounds like once I create a directory and assign
it to a mdt then all the files in that directory will be written to that mdt.
In the case of striping across mds files will be striped across those MDTs (so
if you had two MDTs and you striped a directory across them each MDT would get
about half the files in that directory.

One question is what happens when I create subsequent directories... in that
directory? Do the sub directories inherent the striping?

Another question is about walking the tree. Lets say I create a single
directory and then stripe it across two MDTs. Over time the users of the file
system create deeper and deeper directory structures. Does searching down the
tree get more expensive as the trees get deeper and the system has to bounce
back and forth between two MDTs?
