I just recently installed a new Lustre 2.10.6 file system using the RPMS from /public/lustre/lustre-2.10.6-ib/MOFED-4.5-1.0.1.0/el7.6.1810/patchless-ldiskfs-server. (I had already built and installed MOFED-4.5-1.0.1.0, and I installed e2fsprogs-1.44.5.wc1-0.el7). I was able to format the MDT and I enabled project quotas using “tune2fs -O project <mdt_device>”. However, when I tried to mount the MDT, it failed with the following error message in dmesg:
LDISKFS-fs warning (device dm-3): ldiskfs_enable_quotas:5614: Failed to enable quota tracking (type=2, err=-16). Please run e2fsck to fix. After a little trial and error, I discovered that if I disabled project quotas then the MDT mounts fine. From my searching, this looks like the same problem as LU-9418, but that issue claims to have been fixed back in 2017. Does anyone know if this is a new issue?
