Subject: [lustre-discuss] Build lustre on ubuntu 22.04

Hi,
I have a question about installing lustre on Ubuntu. There is no lustre-server
deb package in
https://downloads.whamcloud.com/public/lustre<https://eur01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdownloads.whamcloud.com%2Fpublic%2Flustre&data=05%7C02%7Cake.sandgren%40umu.se%7Ccf8f207519224b8ea7be08dc28db5efa%7C5a4ba6f9f5314f329467398f19e69de4%7C0%7C0%7C638430169854831701%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=VbIpsZzmAf7NmCwZz1JkrByV9A9XooHBxSztB4R1sNA%3D&reserved=0>.
 We have to build the deb package ourselves

We use ubuntu 22.04

Distributor ID:        Ubuntu

Description:        Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS

Release:        22.04

Codename:        jammy

Kernel is

5.15.0-56-generic

We got gcc error when run

./configure
--with-linux=/home/<user-name>/linux-source-5.15.0/linux-source-5.15.0/

gcc: error: unrecognized command-line option '-V'

gcc: fatal error: no input files

gcc: error: unrecognized command-line option '-qversion'; did you mean
'--version'?

our gcc is

gcc -v

Using built-in specs.

COLLECT_GCC=gcc

COLLECT_LTO_WRAPPER=/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/11/lto-wrapper

OFFLOAD_TARGET_NAMES=nvptx-none:amdgcn-amdhsa

OFFLOAD_TARGET_DEFAULT=1

Target: x86_64-linux-gnu

Configured with: ../src/configure -v --with-pkgversion='Ubuntu
11.4.0-1ubuntu1~22.04' --with-bugurl=file:///usr/share/doc/gcc-11/README.Bugs
--enable-languages=c,ada,c++,go,brig,d,fortran,objc,obj-c++,m2 --prefix=/usr
--with-gcc-major-version-only --program-suffix=-11
--program-prefix=x86_64-linux-gnu- --enable-shared --enable-linker-build-id
--libexecdir=/usr/lib --without-included-gettext --enable-threads=posix
--libdir=/usr/lib --enable-nls --enable-bootstrap --enable-clocale=gnu

--enable-multilib --with-tune=generic
--enable-offload-targets=nvptx-none=/build/gcc-11-XeT9lY/gcc-11-11.4.0/d

ebian/tmp-nvptx/usr,amdgcn-amdhsa=/build/gcc-11-XeT9lY/gcc-11-11.4.0/debian/tmp-gcn/usr
 --without-cuda-driver --enable-checking=release --build=x86_64-linux-gnu
--host=x86_64-linux-gnu --target=x86_64-linux-gnu
--with-build-config=bootstrap-lto-lean --enable-link-serialization=2

Thread model: posix

Supported LTO compression algorithms: zlib zstd

gcc version 11.4.0 (Ubuntu 11.4.0-1ubuntu1~22.04)

Could anyone help suggest how to properly build the lustre package ?

Thank you !
